Four Reasons you
Should Purchase A Retractable Awning Instead of A Fixed
Awning
You've decided to buy an awning for your
home, pool or carport and now you have to choose between a
fixed awning and a retractable awning. Here are four reasons
why you should choose a retractable
awning.
The first and biggest reason to buy a
retractable awning is because it is just that, retractable. It
can be retracted any time for any reason. If you have a fixed
awning, you cannot do this. Fixed awnings can be an eye sore
with vertical or angled posts blocking your view.
Another reason to buy a retractable awning
versus a fixed awning is the weather. If it gets windy, rainy
or snows, all you have to do to assure the protection of a
retractable awning is to retract it. However, if you have
a fixed awning, this is not possible and the awning could
possibly collapse from the weight of water or snow or
become tattered and torn from the wind.
A third reason to purchase this type of
awning is that it allows the property owner to have maximum
light exposure or the maximum amount of shade the property
owner prefers. With a fixed awning, it could cause the inside
of the house to be extremely dark on a dark and cloudy or rainy
day.
The fourth and final reason for such an
awning is the cost. You don't have to hire a contractor to
install it for you and it can be taken down and moved if the
property owner moves. Installing a retractable version is
considerably cheaper than installing a fixed awning. A fixed
awning is just that, fixed, and is a major construction job. It
cannot be taken with you if you leave and the poles have to be
concreted into the ground.
If you choose a retractable one, the awning
will be convenient and allow for years of pleasure, regardless
of where you are.
